Make a point to get off the beaten trail and see the best beaches PEI has to offer.  Between the National Park beaches is where you'll find the real gems. 

Take a day and hit a dozen random beaches from Darnley to Lakeside to  Shelton.  If you stick to the main drag you'll never understand why Islanders gloat so much about their beaches.
